    Heroes vs. Villains - an original RPG for mobile devices

    Hi! My name is Jeremy and this is my first Kickstarter project.

    I'm currently seeking pledges to develop a superhero-themed RPG for iOS and Android users, which features character creation, the choice to decide being either a hero or a villain, separate story lines for each moral side, and original backing characters.

    There isn't much to show yet since we're still in the designing phase, but I'm determined to make this the next big hit amongst the AppStore and Google PlayStore consumers. No one's ever made a game like this with this theme, but I know it's the type of game everyone wants, including myself (which is actually why I started the project in the first place).

    I like the music in the video. Would be nice to see your face/hear from you. I didn't get a full idea of the campaign/who you are/why you are doing this from the video. Just from my experience (varies from campaign to campaign), I've noticed that campaigns tend to do better when they get their dollars pledged/backers up as quickly as possible - so reaching out to friends/family to get those numbers up would probably help. It adds social proof and shows progress (also ask them to comment/share your campaign).

    Appreciate your comment. The reason I didn't put myself in the video is because I'm not very comfortable with myself being on camera. I would have let someone else do it, but I really just didn't see the point. I would love to hear more of your thoughts though. Maybe you can offer some other suggestions.

    Hi,

    I agree with Sal, maybe you could consider being on camera and sharing your passion. While the video is clean and professional, it seems a bit too sterile.

    Software projects tend to take a bit of work to get launched, especially if you don't come into it with a strong following. However, I think a strong connection with project creator can help combat that hurdle.

    I'm also not getting a good understanding of how your game will function, and not getting a lot of confidence from it. I followed the link to AlegriaTech, and it kicked off my virus warning saying "Malicious URL Blocked". Which doesn't do much to build confidence.

    Looks like you're aiming to use Unity 3D engine? Unity has a program specifically to help Kickstarter creators promote their project. If you'll actually be using Unity, you should contact them and pitch your idea and see if they will help promote your project.

    @VaporStarter I just don't see how that would help. I'm not a very social person, and I feel like my nervousness would reflect negatively, giving people the wrong idea.

    And concerning what you said about AlegriaTech, I'm sorry you had that problem. It doesn't happen to me when I go to the site.

    In my personal experience with projects and internet marketing, I've given up on knowing exactly what will or will not help. I've adopted more of a trial and error or test-driven approach. For example, you could test adding a new video for a week, drive traffic to the page each day that week, and measure the results vs. your progress from the previous week without you in the video.

    I do think there's a reason that the majority of companies include people in their advertisements and that investors demand a presentation from the founders for any kind of product. They want to see who the person is, what they are passionate about, and their values. Like you said, it could end up not making much of a difference, but it could also make a huge difference. I don't know enough about customers in your market to say the impact it could have, but if I were in your position, I would run an experiment and test it out.
