I think the "#1 tip" if there is any would be to put yourself in the mindset of other people when you are creating a campaign. Learn to see things from the point of view of: backers, bloggers, friends/family, and future customers. This will help you create reward tiers that fit well with the audience, customize messages that resonate, inspire strangers to pledge for your product, and persuade bloggers/reporters to write about your campaign.
