Hello. Thank you for making this forum! I'll definitely write a review on your podcast!
We're a team of three college students/graduate from St. Paul, MN and we launching our Kickstarter this coming Saturday, Sep, 23rd.
Our project is about publishing a children's book called
This Land is My Land to build empathy among kids in the US, The book will be a colored picture book both in digital and physical forms. For more info about our project, please visit our website at
http://www.thislandbook.com Since we are not going to either publish or deliver the book by ourselves, we are planning to use Bookbaby or Ingram Spark for the production and delivery. However, none of us has done this kind of stuff and we've got some questions.
We just tried a quote for 200 books & ebooks on BookBaby and got $5000, $25 per book & ebook including shipping (Hardcover, 54 pages, one colored picture per page). Can you see any possibilities the costs will be significantly higher than this?
We are planning to set our prices at $25 for the book and $10-15 for eBook. Does the pricing look valid?
Has any of you used their services for Kickstarter or other projects? How was it? Do you know any other options?
We also know the setting a reasonable goal is critical for a Kickstarter project. Right now, we are aiming at either $7500 from 200 backers, $1000 from 300 backers, or $15000 backers from 400 backers. Which one sounds the most legit? So far, we have 130 followers on Facebook, 40 subscribers, and 180 views on YouTube.
We're looking for as many advice as possible. Our project is launching on this Saturday.
Thank you very much,
This Land is My Land Team
