    Full custom vs factory rifle

    by Fergall » Mon May 16, 2022 8:59 am

This is hard to post. I have several full custom rifles and may have more built.

That said, I have a nice lightweight Ruger M77 that is a legitimate sub moa hunting rifle. I had a factory Savage 12 300 WSM that made 0.6 MOA groups easy. I have shot a friends Savage 12 308win that I could always shoot 3-5shot groups under 1/2 moa.

I don't think it would be a good idea to use a custom rifle for lr shooting, since factory rifles are made according to the standards of the arms industry and there are rarely defective rifles in factories that are then returned. Your custom rifles may look good and shoot well, but you may have a problem with internal modules or accuracy, which you did not do according to standards but according to your feelings. Perhaps your technology is not quite perfect for making some rifles, who knows. Nevertheless, I would not advise you to stop producing your custom rifles, but simply investigate your problem and solve it so that everything will be fine in the future. Good luck friend!
