Fright Fight- 3D Online Multiplayer Brawler for Mobile

    by David Z » Thu Oct 24, 2013 8:49 pm

    Image

An adrenaline-pumping 3D online multiplayer platform fighting game featuring all your favorite horror characters in an ominous game setting. Inspired by the legendary ‘Super Smash Bros’. Expected on iOS and, if we get funded successfully, Android Devices, including NVIDIA SHIELD and OUYA.

This game is a combination of many awesome genres, mixing horror, fantasy, and steampunk themes to create an ominous 3D setting. Fright Fight features a bunch of characters from different realms, each with unique attack types, combos and skills. The epic battles full of special moves and fight effects will take place in several different worlds (each with 3 arenas), starting with Flotsam Islands and followed by Galactic Graveyard and a Monster Mausoleum as part of our ambitious plans.

You will have the ability to connect with up to 3 other players from around the world, and compete in 4 player action-packed matches. Play against random opponents or invite your friends to a game. The Cross-Platform functionality allows you to play against your friends even if you have an iOS device and they are playing on an Android device, OUYA, or NVIDIA Shield.

    Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. Campaign is going pretty well so far, it is still early but we are hoping that it will be successful. We can't wait to hear feedback from our backers regarding gameplay!

    Update #1

Whoa! It’s been hot here since the project launch: dozens of questions answered, graphics tuned, and builds fixed. We’re happy to update you on the latest right from the development trenches.

Our recent build features improved light on arenas, meaning there’re no more texture color distortions (just take a minute to watch our promo video again and compare it to the below screenshots). Besides, the characters collision has been rendered more accurately, meaning they no longer ‘slip’ through each other.

We’ll be posting short videos spotlighting the changes in a short while. Stay tuned! And remember, the more Backers we have, the cooler updates you get, the flashier game we’ll play! So thanks a million for backing us!

Hey Guys wanted to share our Kickstarter Update #2:

    Hey Fright Fighters,

First of a massive thank you to all who have donated their hard earned dollar to support our project! It’s a huge confidence booster. Our inner fire for making a dent in the gaming universe is turning into a blazing flame :)

Just like we had announced in our Update #1, with several cool graphic enhancements implemented, our ‘new kid on the block’ has got much more realistic and way more furious. No more “walk-thru’s”, flesh’n’blood is on your way.

What’s more, our dev team has reported to have introduced a Rematch feature. By pressing the ‘Rematch’ button (the circular arrow on a green background) on the ‘Your Rewards’ screen, you’ll have a possibility to replay the fight with the same settings and players (to participate in the repeat fight, all players should hit ‘Rematch’).

More updates are coming up. Stay tuned and spread the word!

    Kickstarter Update #4

    Poll: He-Who-Must-Be-Named

    Hey Backers,

Looks like our spooktacular fighter has made its appearance on Kickstarter right on time!

We hope our ghoulishly bootiful characters have been monstrously inspiring in helping you get dressed up for the night.

By the way, we’re thrilled to take this opportunity to reveal our most Halloween-ish character. Meet Reaper. He’s a legendary creature that haunts the souls of all living beings. He uses his scythe as a weapon that results in a large attack radius. Now, take a close look at how he strikes his scythe...

    Image

...and moves to make a lethal stab!

    Image

We should also admit the poor thing doesn’t have a name yet. Will you help us come up with a really frightful version? How would you name this pumpkin head? We’re dying to know your suggestions. Comment below, on our Facebook page, or via Twitter (@zgames or @FrightFight).

So let us wish you a fangtastic Halloween with helluv scary folks around you! We’re sending our hideous smiles across miles and sincere thanks to all the Fright Fight Backers out there.

    Frightfully Yours,

    zGames and Fright Fight Team

    Kickstarter Update #5

    Alpha testing opens up!

    Image

Help us make this game epic!

    Dear Backers!

Great news for those who have been coveting to get their hands on Fright Fight and see its awesome 3D characters, gesture controls, and RPG elements in action. Today we announce an early alpha gameplay testing of the Fright Fight iOS version made available exclusively to our Kickstarter Backers. A playable build will arrive within the next several days! So prepare to act and provide your thoughts, ideas and feedback.

The current version is not intended for debugging or QA. It’s all about having fun and sharing impressions of the early playable build of the game.

We need 300 Spartans! We need YOU!

You know we haven’t introduced the AI bot into the game yet -- it is part of our Kickstarter Base Goal effort. That’s why we need at least 300 most eager and adventurous of you guys who wish to play Fright Fight -- right here, right now! This number of fighters will enable you to enjoy multiplayer sessions on more or less continuous basis instead of tiresome lonely jumping across the arenas waiting for opponents.

Becoming a Spartan: 5 easy steps

    1. Become a Fright Fight Backer on Kickstarter. Make a pledge (could be as symbolic as $1 ;)). This will make you qualify for taking part in our alpha gameplay testing. If you’re an existing Backer -- accept our huge thanks and proceed to Step 2.

    2. Send us a message using the Kickstarter interface, stating you want to play alpha. Make sure you indicate your e-mail address. We'll need it to be able to send you an invitation to our TestFlight account.

    3. Wait for an alpha testing launch alert. For this to happen, we’ll need at least 299 other Spartans to join in. It’s a multiplayer, remember? We have fans from different time zones: US, Europe, Australia, China who are unable to play 24/7 (though we would be happy if they do, heh). We’d hate to have you jump across the arenas all alone. What we really want is to help you feel the drive of the Fright Fight multiplayer! Spread the word to hasten this moment!!!

Follow us on Facebook and Twitter

    4. Check for updates. Accept the invitation. As soon as we get 300 ‘early birds’ on board, we’ll get the news out straight away. We’ll also send you a personal e-mail invitation to join our test account. Click on the link provided in the e-mail and follow the very simple instructions.

    5. Download and Play! After you log into the test account, you’ll see the Fright Fight install icon. Just like you’d normally do in the App Store, simply click it to download and install the game. That’s it. Play with your hometown friends or with the guys from the other part of the world. And remember to share your impressions and ideas, report where the things went wrong and what you enjoyed the most.

    IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER

We want to clearly state here that this is not even a beta version. It is a playable alpha build that is provided ‘as is’ and you will use it at your own risk. We’re not supporting it and we cannot take any obligation to fix a reported bug (but of course we’ll be fixing everything in the next versions) or apply every your suggestion for improvement.

    Kickstarter, make it happen!
