Bad Mouth Party Game - 2 Days in

    by Badmouth » Sun Apr 15, 2018 7:09 pm

    Hey Everyone!
I have created a party game called Bad Mouth
    My first kickstarter campaign.
similar to Cards Against Humanity as well as others,
except this one allows you to insult your friends and family
    without having to feel offended.

Just wondering what tips that have helped you make a successful campaign?

    Thank you
    Justin Gibson

    Hey Justin,

I'm also in thew process of my first campaign, currently in the last 4 days. There is a lot I have learned and would do differently having gone through this. I've learned you should build a following 6 months to a years in advance either through social media, blogs, building email list etc. Being that you are already live it a little late for that, I made the same mistake.

Things that have helped me while live.
I've noticed being at live events, bars, breweries, and beer fest have worked well for me and my game.
Reaching out to bloggers, facebook groups, forums, etc that have a community that likes your type of game can helpful.
Be genuine and build a relationship with supporters.
Reach out to all you facebook friends, and any email you have.

It will be a grind, but if you work hard you can start to build a community and get there. Use everything as a learning experience during this time.

    Good Luck.
Don't Get Drunk was funded on Kickstarter and is available for preorder at CrowdOx ---> https://app.crowdox.com/projects/854354559/dont-get-drunk-the-ultimate-party-game

'being at live events, bars, breweries, and beer fest have worked well for me and my game.'
That's excellent advice! You could even ask a brewery if you could host a game night, charge a small cover that goes toward the campaign, and then ask people for their feedback on the game...if they love it, give them a business card with the campaign link/info on it.

I think I am going to make up a modified version of this for my campaign! (Mine involves getting a travel camper, so maybe I'll have a vendor set up and people can ask me questions like a meet and greet at my vintage camper and contribute!)

Your project sounds really interesting. There is a set core audience you are trying to reach and I think it will do well with them. I might even ask to sponsor a trivia night at a bar because those are your people.
