10 days after launch - what should I do now?

    by ZeMindGames » Thu Sep 06, 2018 4:15 pm

    Hey everyone,

My team launched our first Kickstarter campaign 10 days ago. Here is the link to our campaign: https://kck.st/2M3InLM

Our project, Uncaged: World Fighters, is a card-based strategy game designed to simulate the action of a mixed martial arts fight.

We’ve released the game with 4 martial arts styles and got a really positive feedback! We’re really grateful that card game lovers enjoy the game as much as we do, but we could really use some financial support to make a larger production run. So, after months of preparing, our campaign went active 10 days ago.

We had a fairly strong start: 25% pledged in the first 2 days! People we met at conventions loved the game; local game stores approached to us and happy to sell our games in their stores; we have a group of fans that love MMA and card games. We are really confident about our project and God knows we’ve put hard work into it.

Then, there is a lull. Only a few people who’ve given us positive feedback finally backed us. What should I do to turn supporters into backers? Also, we seem to have run out of ideas on exposing our campaign. Social media and advertising are not as helpful as we’d hoped. Some marketing agencies have reached out to us, and I wonder if any of those are worth it?

Please check out our campaign on Kickstarter and share some reviews!

Thank you in advance for any and all suggestions!

I'm on the same boat... 15% founded first day and 4 days later no more pledges. I'm checking some crowdfunding agencies right now, any suggestion?

We've had some limited success with ads on kicktraq and boardgamecapital, but even if you get eyeballs on your page now, that 15% is going to turn away a lot of people. We've been finding that at this stage, you have to convince people to back before they even land through things like online reviews and live demonstrations (e.g. conventions).

We haven't tried any paid promoters yet, so I'd be curious if anyone has used any, whether it worked or not!

Contact d@dekked.com for backer list; the only authentic list which is out there. Whatever list you purchase, do NOT buy anything at Krowdster.
Feed the e-mails from this backer list on to FB for custom audience targeting. FB is a money-minded shit house. They charge for serving the advertisement; not per engagement.

Second strategy is to get featured on BackersHub. Dwight is a nice guy; prompt with e-mails.

Third strategy is to get aboard with media and PR. You must have done the spade work prelaunch to make a robust list. You can refer your live project in your message.

All aforementioned strategies work if the audience is interested in the product. This interested needs to be tested in market validation. Again, a prelaunch task.

How have you been getting on? I managed to get 38% pledged in the first 5 days but now I’m lulling too.
