When I first came across this project, it was the video and artwork that really stood out. I highly recommend watching the video! Watch it here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/71 ... to-pumpkin

    About the Project

Ever since the beginning of time, one thing has been certain... babies!

Bump to Baby was created in honour of an important part of life. The part where a lot of my friends started growing baby bumps so I created a unique gift. Part journal, part art.

Over 12 months I painted LIFE SIZED gouache illustrations of fruit and vegetables cross sections. Each artwork represents the size of a baby at each week of pregnancy from week 7 (Blueberry) to 40 (Pumpkin). With your support they will be transformed into a set of beautifully designed cards. The cards are intended to work in several ways:

    As a fun pregnancy countdown

As a way to record thoughts and feelings during the pregnancy journey (either while pregnant or the journey after the baby is born)

As artworks to brighten the nursery (or any) wall

As a gift to share with your baby once they have grown

And the reason I created it, a fantastic baby shower/welcoming gift

Specifically, the deck will consist of 35 x A5 (210mm x 148mm or 8.3" x 5.8" - half an A4 page) unique cards. Designed and printed in Australia and supporting local business :)

The journal part of the cards is designed to be flexible. The space is open allowing you to be as creative as you like in your interpretations of the prompts. As the weeks go by the prompts will change and allow you to consider different aspects of your pregnancy and future with baby.

I have also kept in mind that you may wish to collect memories during the weeks after baby is born, so I have ensured the prompts can be used for either purpose. This means that it is the perfect gift for yourself or other expecting parents as they can keep track of memories before or after pregnancy.

As I create the cards I would love for you to be involved in the process :) Feel free to give ideas in the comments!

My friend had a surprise, a "we must meet in person" surprise. Really, at my age, when one of my friends says they have a surprise, it's usually marriage or babies. So when we met up that day, I had my bet on babies. I will always remember the thing she said that day, "my baby is the size of a lemon".

For a minute I was baffled, a lemon?

And then I thought that fruits are the perfect way of comparing the growth of a fetus as plants start from seed too. It was then I decided I would create the perfect personalised gift for my friend, the expecting mum of a lemon sized fetus, and any friend that was to give birth from this day forward.
