However, We received an email from kickstarter dated 08/12/14 requesting a new and more illustrative video within 24 hours, so we had to cancel the project with hopes of restarting it again with a much more detailed video."

I think that this is definitely a scam! Kickstarter would never ask someone to cancel their project just so the video can be more detailed. There have been many projects that look amazing but turn out to be fake projects that only take your money. Kickstarter can't do anything after the pledges are accepted and the money is taken from your account and placed into the creators. I also recently found another article on hackaday. This site pretty much says it's a scam.
