Okay I signed up on Twitter (@RobertESIII) now and I am posting hash tags in my social media with the "brand name" of my science fiction graphic novel, so I add these hash tags: (#HoboFires #graphicnovel #scifi). What else can I do to use twitter to attract backers to my campaign?
You could start by searching on twitter for keywords like "Hobo" and "Graphic Novel." You could even try hosting a Twitter chat where people could "ask a hobo" questions to help raise awareness about your graphic novel and campaign.
One important tip is that when you post your campaign with hashtags, get as many people as you can to favorite/retweet it. The more favorites/retweets you have, the longer your tweet will be trending for each hashtag you use.
Thank you so much for the tips on using Twitter for your campaign. The retweets are key! Otherwise, with the nature of Twitter, only a few people see it before more tweets flood the feed!
Read the Crowdcrux Twitter article - thanks! We started our Twitter account a week INTO our Kickstarter, so maybe it's not worth trying to build an audience there for the purpose of driving in pledges. We have found it a useful way to communicate with journalists and other interested parties that we couldn't get hold of any other way. We are wondering how you get people to favorite/retweet tweets. What makes people want to do that?
KS have a policy about tweeting people you don't know don't they? I can understand the need to protect against what could be seen as Spam. Has this been an issue for anyone?
