Final report shows reach = 6,423, post engagement= 35. They have refunded me $150 as per my request. They maintain that they provided me with outstanding marketing service and the that they have refunded me only because of the interruptions in communication with my campaign manager - they said he left the company. I disagree. We got 35 people clicking on the ad, so $295 - $150 = $145. $145 per 35 clicks is not a reasonable cost to me. No backers from this activity.

Personally, I am not a fan of Kickstarter creators embracing ambulance chasing, as a primary mechanism of getting people to back their projects, but free enterprise encompasses many different and diverse methods of people trying to make a buck.

So, let's focus solely upon the actual numbers in question.

If the reach was supposed to be 6,500+, then how does failing to meet the advertised figure of 6,500 qualify as outstanding marketing service? Quite plain and simply, it doesn't, because it can't. 6,500 would be the bare minimum threshold. 6,423 is not far from 6,500, but anybody with even a rudimentary skill in mathematics can quickly and easily comprehend that 6,423 is LESS THAN 6,500.

Of course, projects vary. Even still, if the company can't even meet the bare standards that they, themselves, set, then it certainly should send up red flags to others who might be considering using the company, no matter which company that it is.

But, if a project creator is operating off of ignorance, and trusting in blind luck, then it should come as no real surprise that things turn out differently from what was hoped for.

The definition of outstanding hasn't changed. If it didn't meet its minimum stated number, then it failed, which is at the far opposite end of the spectrum from outstanding, on the results scale.

If you paid for this service via a credit card, then you do have the option of disputing the charge. You could dispute part of the charge, explaining that they refunded part of your money.

Hello! This is Nick, the lead Ads Specialist with KICKSTARTMYADS.com. Our team is very glad to see all the growing interest in driving supporters off Facebook. We’ve had a lot of success in this space (check out our list of success stories and testimonials from past clients on our website). Targeted Facebook promotions are always a great way to drive supporters to any crowdfunding campaign!

Anyways, our Ads Team recently discussed some of the comments/questions posted by crowdfunders on this thread, so we wanted to post a reply for anyone that could benefit (there’s a lot to say about fb ads, but we’ll try to keep it short!).

    SUMMARY:

    1) Promoted posts vs. professional promo

Doing your own promoted page posts or regular newsfeed posts on your personal profile are highly encouraged, but they burn out fast. You get diminishing returns on those very quickly, and can also annoy your fans/friends if overdone. Our promotions extend far beyond your current fans and friends.

    2) Doing your own ads vs. professional promo:

Our past clients have told us that running their own ads for the first time gets really expensive and the learning curve is long and costly. Professional promotions on the other hand can give you the best bang for your buck. Our targeting is also far more advanced to hit new targeted audiences that we find AND sometimes we've already developed audiences perfect for your campaign’s niche.

    3) Run ads from your personal/fan page vs. our crowdfunding fanpage networks

There were some comments made by others about the benefits of running ads from your fanpage or personal page rather than ours. There are some serious misconceptions about how Facebook ads work. We get the best conversions when running ads through one of our developed crowdfunding fanpage networks. It also allows us to launch your promotions quickly without gaining access to your page admin. This is a proven method used by top Facebook marketing agencies.

Best of luck with your crowdfunding campaigns everyone! Feel free to contact one of our ads specialists if you have any specific questions about how we can help your campaign! :)

I'm taking the plunge with Kickstartmyads.com for the Votsh Waves campaign http://bit.ly/waveskickstarter. I'm buying their $450 package. I'll post the results here. My logic for buying is that its better to have an extra person rowing early on, and the cost is inexpensive to try them out. -Frank

I am interested in KickstartMyAds as well, but need more info on it or if it has been worth the money to anyone.

It seems like a better choice then just buying facebook ads. The cost can be as low as $199 so it seems reasonable if it truly targets FB users who might be most interested in your campaign.

The Nick guy is persistant and annoying! Total spammer!

No matter how many times I reply to his email telling him I am not interested and to stop emailing me, he does not get it!

I decided to call him to tell him to please stop emailing me (his many emails are now filling up my Spam Folder) and he simply hung up on me - in the middle of my sentence!

Desperate, unprofessional, SCAM! I can't believe he won't stop!

    DON'T USE THEM!

Let me said another share experience and review for you about these booster.
I've use http://www.fundingsuccessful.com and they are totally scam.
They do nothing but only create their own 8-10 facebook/twitter account and post your link there.
    They really DO NOTHING.
We hired them after the campaign run about 10 days.
and We didn't get anything even traffic from them.
And here's campaign I've run on Kickstarter.

    I was scammed by Kickstartmyads

    by digishack » Thu Nov 06, 2014 11:44 pm

I used Kickstartmyads for my recent Kickstarter project and I was totally scammed!

Initially they contacted me on Kickstarter and then phoned me. I signed up to their "reach crowdfunders" package for $250 on the phone after they promised to "drive visitors" to my Kickstarter campaign and increase my sales.

The Kickstartmyads report that I received yesterday says that over the 2 week period that my Ad was displayed 61,724 times and only 23 people clicked on it. I don't think sending 23 people to my website over 2 weeks is exactly "driving" people to my website. I feel like I have been totally misled and they didn't deliver what they promised me on the phone. Paying $250 for 23 visitors is ridiculous and it's not what I was promised on the phone. They paid $1.35 per click (about $30 total) for the visitors they sent me and they charged me $250. What a rip off!

I asked for a refund and they would not give me one.

I have attached the report they sent me.

I would recommend avoiding Kickstartmyads at all costs. They guarantee you "exposure" not visitors to your Kickstrater page which is totally dishonest and misleading.
You would be better off doing your own research and running and managing your own Facebook advertising campaign.

I would be interested in hearing about other people's experiences with this company.

Just started my own project but thanks for letting me know! I've been approached by one or two like this so I'll be sure to avoid it.
